Success in education does not guarantee happiness
Hi and Assalammualaikum, everyone! My name is Noor Athirah Binti Ahmad Faizal with matric number 280091. My topic for the cpeech is about Success In Education Does Not Guarantee Happiness. I choose this topic because I want to change people's notion.
Life success is usually associated with a person’s ability to achieve high status economically and socially. Peace and happiness of the soul are also considered important elements in the life of a successful person. A person is said to be successful in education if he can continue his education so as to become a knowledgeable person in his field. Naturally, success in education cannot guarantee absolute happiness and success in life. This is so since the happiness and success of life also depends on other factors.
Indeed, one of the factors that guarantees the success and happiness of one’s life is success in education. Usually, someone who is successful in formal education has a brighter future. Many job opportunities that offer a more comfortable work environment and lucrative returns are open to him. For example, professional positions such as accountants, doctors, lawyers, engineers, consultants, and so on. They are considered successful because they achieve high economic and social levels. This group is also admired and respected by the community. Their lives are also much easier than others.
But success in life can also be achieved through experience. Experience will make a person skilled and mature as well as far sighted. Without education, a person will also be successful if he perseveres in gaining experience. For example, the late Great Artist Tan Sri P. Ramlee managed to bring Malay films to the pinnacle of glory through his experience.
The same is the case with the millionaire and philanthropist of the late Tan Sri Loh Boon Siew who was poor and illiterate as a child, but eventually managed to dominate the motorcycle market in Malaysia. In the field of business, traders who are highly educated but less experienced may lose to those who start from a small business but work on experience to own a corporate body. This shows that the success factor in education is not an absolute factor.
Life success also depends on attitude factors. Abstinence, optimism, patience, and always wanting to improve themselves as well as clean, efficient, and trustworthy are also the keys to success in life. Many graduates are unemployed because they are not ready to work hard, instead just waiting like months of falling into the usury. Many well -respected professionals end up in prison for committing white -collar crimes. Those who are highly educated but do not love themselves end up getting caught up in drugs and alcohol. This shows that the educational factor is not the only factor that guarantees success in life. On the other hand, attitude factors also play an important role.
However, those who fail do not mean the future is dark because there are still other opportunities to be explored. Many people think that admission to a “public institution of higher learning” is a measure of one's success. Admitted to the university definitely has a bright future. The mentality of our society needs to be changed because all this time our society has always been bribed with the notion that if you study at university life will be more secure and have good job opportunities. But the fact is many are still unemployed after graduation.
Environment also affects the success of one's life. The meaning of environment is environment of the community and the country. A society whose moral values have collapsed will be a breeding ground for criminal cases. The existence of various problems that cause every member of society will be threatened. In a chaotic country, war will claim not only property but also human lives. At that time, higher education to any extent was no longer meaningful and could not be used to its best advantage.
It is clear that outstanding success in education is not an absolute determining factor in ensuring the success and happiness of one’s life. Especially in an age full of all kinds of challenges. Indeed, it is better if we are highly educated. But we also need religious education, positive attitude, and faith to achieve a happy and successful life.
