Inauguration of the Launch of the Reading Program.
Assalamualaikum and greetings everyone,
First of all, I would like to thank you for being given the honour to be together for the students and lecturers this morning to complete the university level Reading Program learning ceremony.
The main purpose of this program is to ensure that a culture of love of knowledge is successfully nurtured among all students in line with the government's direction to create an information rich society.
My esteemed audience,
The nature of love of reading is a noble practice and should be made a lifelong culture. Reading is a step to gain knowledge, enrich information, knowledge and abilities in various fields. In other words, through reading we can educate ourselves in various aspects. Knowledge and information enable us to improve our standard of living, be competitive and move forward in today's increasingly challenging and high -tech world. People who love to read are an infinite government asset because life tomorrow depends a lot on what we learn today.
One of the emphasis of the Malaysian government is to develop Malaysia as an information rich country with a knowledge -based economy. Therefore, I really hope that the students and lecturers at Universiti Utara Malaysia can instill an interest in reading in each other.
In conjunction with this program, I call on all residents of Universiti Utara Malaysia to visit the library available in this country and participate in programs and activities planned and use the facilities provided by the library as best as possible in gaining new knowledge.
With this, I as the Head of the student representative council am pleased and proud to officiate this university level Reading Program. Thank you.
