A very good day and greetings we bid to our beloved madam, classmates and people of the floor, we are Group 2 or we often always call us as the Expresso Team. Our team consist of 6 of us; Michelle, Shuva, CK, Tasha, Fiqa and Athirah.
Ladies and gentlemen,
It has been a journey of 4 semesters for all of us here in Kok-K Public Speaking. Never did we imagined that our journey here will come to an end this soon. Hence, now we are here before you to give our farewell speech before we bid goodbye forever. We hereby would like to begin our speech by stating out our opinion on public speaking. To us, public speaking is an effective way for students to develop their soft skills to achieve many things in life. A hard skill is not the only route for people to succeed in their life. Remarkably, our society has been programmed to excel in their life by achieving the most A’s in their studies. However, people always underestimate the power of soft skills in life. By way of joining curricular activities of public speaking in the secondary and tertiary education, students will be exposed to the reality of life whereby we must attain the confidence in talking in front of other people so that it will be our regular routine in life. This is because if we believe when enter into the industry later, we will have to deal with various types of people with different backgrounds. Therefore, through the confidence we have attained by joining public speaking, we realised that it will be easier to communicate effectively and deliver our tasks correctly. We contended that public speaking would bring many benefits rather than a detriment in life. And to us, Public speaking is about expressing ourselves, sharing of our thoughts and influencing people in the right direction. Although there is a lot of elements in public speaking, but the core to us is still communication. Some says it is a one-way communication but we think it’s a more-than-two-ways communication.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Throughout our experience in Ko-k classes we have benefited a lot from this, one of has got to be the exposure to new experiences and skills, but we also have been programmed to be punctual and have self-discipline. Through tasks that were distributed to students, we have learned to manage our tight schedule properly and deliver our tasks accordingly.
Other than that, the most valuable thing that we attained from this subject is the experience of working with new people. We contended that it is a regular practice once we enter the industry whereby, we have to meet and work with new people every day. Throughout the whole semester, we have met many new people with different backgrounds and races who work together. It is challenging at the beginning since we have never met each other, but we manage to break the ice and perform our duty as group members properly. It helped us boost our confidence and improve communication skills. Now, we are able to generate many kinds of speech such as persuasive speech or informative speech.
In conclusion, our hopes for the future are we can use this valuable lesson in our daily life and be someone successful in the future. We believe that this programme is very beneficial to every participant, and we gain a lot of things while studying Public Speaking. We believe, public speaking is a fantastic way to grow as a person on many levels, as improving communication skills are beneficial in practically every aspect of life. The ability to grow in the workplace and in life would be practically impossible without communication skills. All of us here are a big fan of public speaking because we enjoy being on stage and have many people listening to us speaking.

Our verdicts :
- This ko-k classes have definitely meet or even exceed my expectations as I thought the class will only be regular meetings which we can just scan attendance and leave. I had not expected that the learning process in so fruitful and interesting. Thanks to madam, I do really enjoy the class!
- To conclude, this class in one of the important parts of my life, it enriches my public speaking skills, and made me a more confident person.
- My teammates are such amazing teammates. At first, I was scared of working with new people because I was scared that some people won't contribute for the work, but luckily the members were all good and very cooperative. Thanks to Public Speaking Kok classes and the guidance of madam for making this possible.
- All of my expectations have been fulfilled throughout the semesters and this marks my kok life with great ending and useful knowledge.
- Throughout all four semesters of public speaking, I have met a lot of people. I was so excited at first when I know that I will work with my groupmates that have different races. To be honest, it was quite challenging for me because all of them can speak English fluently. However, they are all very supportive and helpful to each other. We manage to discuss and finished all our tasks in a proper way.
- Although Public Speaking was not what I wanted for Kok-K, I regret nothing about joining this Kok-, because I learnt so much on my own personal development, teamwork skills and communication plus event planning abilities
